Montenegro is observing a three-day mourning period following the tragedy in Cetinje, in which 12 people were killed and four seriously injured yesterday. New Year's celebrations have been cancelled, and condolences to the residents of Cetinje and Montenegro have arrived from countries in the region and the EU. The perpetrator of the multiple murder, Aco Martinović, took his own life after police surrounded him last night, after a several-hour chase, near his family home in a suburban neighborhood. The police are determining the motive for the crime and state that Martinović, after an argument in a restaurant, shot four people, after which he killed other victims at several other locations, including two children and members of the killer's family. The streets of Cetinje are eerily quiet, with few passersby, and the people of Cetinje are in no mood to talk about the tragedy that befell the city last night, reports Al Jazeera's Predrag Tomović. #Cetinje #Tragedy #Montenegro Subscribe to our channel https://ajb.me/xi67cv Follow us on X: https://x.com/AJBalkans Find us on Facebook: / ajbalkans Visit our website: https://balkans.aljazeera.net/ Check out our Instagram page: / ajbalkans Download AJB mobile apps: https://webapps.aljazeera.net/ajb/apps/ @AJBalkans #AJBalkans #News #Al Jazeera Balkans #Balkans #Sarajevo #Belgrade #Zagreb
