Having graduated in banking, Ricardo Lacerda moved to the investment banking area at an early age. His expertise leading the initiatives of the sector at Goldman Sachs and Citi in Brazil provided the basis for founding BR Partners (BRBI11) in 2009, the largest independent investment bank in Latin America. Since the founding partners had extensive experience in the investment banking business, the partnership naturally focused on M&A in the first years of operation, but expanded into other areas. As a financial institution, BR Partners has never had a year of losses. In addition, its market share has increased substantially over the years, as has its revenues. In this episode of Expert Talks – At the Table with CEOs, Ricardo Lacerda, founder and CEO of BR Partners, spoke with Fernando Ferreira, chief strategist and head of Research at XP, and Bernardo Guttmann, head of the financial sector at Research at XP, about his career and the secrets to BR Partners’ success.
