ČEKRK TV FILM Čekrk is an anti-war drama, which, in a peculiar, tragicomic way, tells the story of a well-known, seemingly old-fashioned, but often hushed-up love between friends and relatives, which in this screen adaptation is given in a recognizable national form. The film is about two well workers, Mišula (Boro Stjepanović) and Puja (Ljubomir Bandović), with contradictory attitudes and opinions that, in their daily disagreements, reveal their apparent mutual intolerance and indifference, but also the joy of being condemned to live together. In this relationship, master Misula is the embodiment of an old sage, and apprentice Pujo is a naive, rash hedonist. While airplanes fly over and bomb Serbia, these two ordinary people, by chance unaware of the events, absorbed in marathon well digging in a mocking but humorous way, dissolve the heaviness and misery of their own lives. In addition to the well workers, unaware of the historical moment, a village in Valjevo lives an almost bizarre, peacetime everyday life, while the sound of murderous explosions approaches over time... The film Čekrk was shot in the beautiful surroundings of the village of Rožanci in the vicinity of Kosmaj, with the wholehearted support of the local population. Irreplaceable help in the realization of the film was provided by the Air Force and the anti-aircraft defense of the Serbian Armed Forces, with the active participation of MiG 29 aircraft in attractive film scenes.
