Cody began his life in the flask tanks of the cloners living on the world of Kamino, like the other, almost countless Jango Fett clones. At a very young age, he was noticed by the Kaminoan cloning masters for his independent and confident thinking. So it is not surprising that he was included among the clones receiving special training. Here he met CT-7567, also known as Rex, with whom he quickly became close friends and remained so until Cody was sent to the battlefield. Cody did not participate in the first Battle of Geonosis, he was later recruited into the machine during the battle on Skor II and served under Master Mace Windu as a captain. Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi saw his abilities and recommended Cody for promotion, so he eventually became a commander. He spent a few months on the battlefield when he was called back to Kamino. He was accepted into a special experimental training program under the ARC program, led by Alpha-17. Due to the new independence that the ARC soldiers received, CC-2224 took the name Cody. He supplemented his equipment with tools and elements that were only available to ARC soldiers at the time. He was one of nearly 100 clones who completed the first ARC program under the leadership of Alpha-17. Because of this, he gained entry into Team 7, an elite team of specially re-trained commandos created by the aforementioned Alpha-17. This team included the best snipers, gunners and marines of the Grand Army of the Republic. They were given missions that were usually entrusted only to Jedi Masters, due to their delicate and difficult details. Commander Cody and Davijaan, also known as Odd Ball, were given the leadership role of Team 7, and Jorir, also known as CT-43/76-9155, administered their tasks. The Battle of Felucca, here they fought against Grievous' forces, but unsuccessfully. The Black Stall Station, accompanied Masters Kenobi and Windu here to recover the holocron and Force-sensitive children kidnapped by Cad Bane, the bounty hunter. The Second Battle of Geonosis, he participated with his battalion in the retaking of Geonosis. The Battle of Saleucami, the goal was to free Master Eeth Koth, who had been captured by General Grievous.
