Giant Wallago Attu Giant wallago must be caught at Vajiralongkorn Dam or Khao Laem Dam in Kanchanaburi. Using artificial lure is very difficult in this era because the fish are very smart and extraordinary. Just drop the bait and it will get stuck. The location is an old forest which is the home of these wallago fish. Mackerel guts are the best bait! However, the technique of hooking, reading the fish and choosing the right time to set the hook must rely on the experience of the locals, Tai Che! Khao Laem, Sangkla Buri is known for trophy size wallago attu. Using artificial lure is very challenging due to high fishing pressure and heavy structure at the bottom. Fish guts are commonly used and seems to work very well for wallago and giant snakehead. Still, knowledge of a local expert is needed for rigging, reading the fish and when to set the hook!
