With the establishment of the Dual Monarchy, Budapest embarked on the path of becoming a royal center, a symbolic element of which was the large-scale reconstruction of the outdated royal palace. The honorable task was given to none other than the architectural giant Miklós Ybl. The works began with the arrangement of the surroundings of the building complex, and thus the Castle Garden Bazaar was created between 1875 and 1882 on the side of Castle Hill facing the Danube. The spectacular neo-Renaissance-style building and the royal garden behind it also included an elegantly designed technical building, the Castle Garden Kiosk. In the latest part of the joint series of Egy hely and the Építészfórum, we can get acquainted with an excellent example of Hungarian neo-Renaissance architecture.
