Part 1 of the hike along the blue Carpathian Trail, section Rzeszów - Ustrzyki Górne. May turned out to be the perfect time for this trail: there was no thicket or mud, but wonderful weather and a dream encounter with a brown bear near Chrewt. The entire hike took me 2 weeks. I started in the afternoon of May 1 in Rzeszów and finished on May 15 before noon in Grybów. The trail is beautiful, one of the best in Poland and very interesting, although it runs through areas that have a tragic and sad history - in the past the area was densely populated by Ruthenians, who were displaced. The beauty of the Carpathian Forest, relative emptiness and lack of crowds are the greatest advantages of the trail. You can see old Orthodox churches and cemeteries along the way. If you want to spend the night under a roof, you have to go off the trail. The best experience is guaranteed by hiking with a tent. On the second part of the trail there are many shelters where you can spend the night. Officially, the trail has no name, it is simply the blue trail Rzeszów - Grybów. The Carpathian Trail is its common name, inherited from the pre-war Main Carpathian Trail, of which it contains parts. Sometimes the section along the border with Slovakia is called the Border Trail (but we have more of these in Poland), sometimes named after Kazimierz Pułaski. The marking on most of the trail is very good, only in the area of PTTK Przemyśl there are places that have not been marked for a long time, which are a bit overgrown, but navigation on the phone helps to avoid getting lost and find an alternative passage in the few places where it is difficult to get through.
