Carlos Chagas is one of the greatest Brazilian scientists and also the only one in the world to have unraveled the entire process of an infectious disease. His name is associated with his greatest discovery: American trypanosomiasis - Chagas' disease. But this is not his only contribution to public health. He defined new methods for combating malaria and defeated the Spanish flu epidemic, which ravaged Rio de Janeiro in 1918, after killing millions of people worldwide. He received several awards and honors, including two nominations for the Nobel Prize in Medicine, which were unjustly overlooked. The program, hosted by Ancelmo Gois and Vera Barroso, airs every Sunday at 6 pm on TV BRASIL. Reruns on Fridays at 8:30 pm. For more editions, visit: http://tvbrasil.org.br/delapraca/
