Lavras is a Brazilian municipality in the Immediate Geographic Region of Lavras, to which it gives its name, in the Intermediate Geographic Region of Varginha, belonging to the state of Minas Gerais. It is located at a latitude of 21 ° 14' 43 south and a longitude of 44 ° 59' 59 west, at an altitude of 919 meters and having an area of 566.1 km².
