A forgotten fortification, where no tourist has ever set foot, is officially considered the site of the last battle of Hero of the Soviet Union Pyotr Mikhailovich Gavrilov. It was here, on the 32nd day of the war - July 23, 1941, that the last defender of the fortress was taken prisoner by the Nazis. Access to the caponier from the fortress side is blocked by steel bars, and from the northern side - by a water moat.
