For this show, Eric invites you to the Périgord, to discover a treasure of New Aquitaine, the 10 kilometers probably the craziest in all of Europe. From Domme, a fortified town perched above a meander, to Beynac, a powerful medieval fortress, passing by the unexpected village of La Roque-Gageac, clinging to the cliff, we find along the water, a unique concentration of breathtaking places! To discover this part of the Périgord Noir, Eric embarks on a canoe with Romain Bondonneau as his guide, a history and geography teacher in Sarlat and founder of the Périgord Patrimoine association. This local boy is inexhaustible on the riches of his native region. With Virginie Boutet, Eric explores the incredible medieval city of Domme. A fortified town created in the 13th century by the King of France as a military base to reconquer Aquitaine, then a possession of the English crown. La Roque-Gageac is a surprising village, clinging to the cliff, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. Reputed to be impregnable, it became the refuge of the bishops of Sarlat. We owe them in particular the splendid 14th century church, with its slate roof and its bell tower-wall. But here, since time immemorial, the inhabitants have had to learn to live with the danger that the cliff can represent. The last stop on this journey along the Dordogne, the fortress of Beynac, another opportunity to marvel for Eric, in the company of the writer Michel Testut, a lover of these fabulous landscapes.
