In Mainz Mombach I met up with my brother Mario and we set off on an unforgettable adventure. A strong headwind and a thunderstorm forced us to set up an emergency bivouac just before Bingen. But the next few days turned out to be quiet and enjoyable. In Unkel I said goodbye to my brother and continued on to Cologne alone. The meter-high waves, the headwind and the power of the Rhine current will always remain in both of our memories.
