In this second episode, I entered the region towards Casca D'anta Waterfall, one of the main and largest waterfalls, and also the first waterfall on the São Francisco River. I left the municipality of São João Batista do Glória, crossed the valley of Serra de Santa Maria, Serra Calçada, Vale da Babilônia, climbed the feared Serra Branca, crossed the plateau of Chapadão da Babilônia, and descended Morro do Carvão. I arrived at Gate 4 of the National Park (lower part), and arrived at Casca D'anta Waterfall. Then I passed through Serra da Canastra, the mountain range that gave the name to the National Park and the entire surrounding region, also called the Buffer Zone. I also passed through São José do Barreiro (district of São Roque de Minas), Vargem Bonita and ended the episode in the city of São Roque de Minas, where Gate 1 and the headquarters of the National Park are located. In the next episode I will go up the mountain to visit the upper part of the park where the Visitor Center, the Source of the São Francisco River, the Curral de Pedras, the upper part of the Casca D'anta Waterfall, the Garagem de Pedras, Rolinhos, Rasga Tanga and Fundão waterfalls are located.
