This time, the creators decided to cooperate with a well-known figure from outside the video game industry – writer George RR Martin, author of the A Song of Ice and Fire saga. Elden Ring is another title in the portfolio of the FromSoftware studio, which, thanks to Demon's Souls released in 2009, started the trend called soulslike – inaccessible action RPG games characterized by a high level of difficulty from the very first minutes of the game. As was the case during the creation of the developer's other flagship games – apart from Dark Souls II – the role of the main designer was played by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Following the pattern of games from the series commonly called Soulsborne – which includes Demon's Souls, the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne) – the main plot in Elden Ring is only lightly outlined, and the player must overcome subsequent stages of the adventure to gradually gain shreds of information, which at the end he will be able to put together into one coherent whole. The action of the production takes place in a land known as The Lands Between, divided into six kingdoms. Each of them is ruled by one of the demigods, whom we will have to defeat in order to take away fragments of the titular Elden Circle. It was the destruction of this mysterious object that started the cataclysm that brought the Lands Between to the brink of collapse.
