Space rocks fall on Earth all the time. Estimates say that we have something in the region of tons of small meteoroids falling here every day, not counting the high-energy events caused by the atmospheric entry of small asteroids. The latter is rarer and tends to happen only a few times a year. But what you may never have seen is a space rock actually hitting the surface directly. This type of record is incredibly rare, since meteorites have a greater potential to fall in remote areas, where cameras cannot reach. In today's video, we will see the real record of a camera capturing a meteorite hitting the ground.
