In this video I show you how I calculate cable cross-sections. First of all you need the following information: Iz = current carrying capacity of the cable In = rated current of the fuse Ib = current consumption of the equipment Ir = rated value for Iz f1 = conversion factor for different ambient temperatures f2 = conversion factor for accumulation of cables The following equation must be given: Iz (greater than or equal to) In (greater than or equal to) Ib The following formula for Ir is required: Ir = Iz / f1 * f2 You need to know what types of fuses there are.
