Today I will take you on a journey in the footsteps of the revitalization of railway lines no. 340 and 308, which after years of absence has a chance to once again appear on the railway map of Poland. Discover with us the history and future of this picturesque route leading to the heart of the Karkonosze Mountains. History of the Line: Railway line no. 340, known for its unique inclination, which in the final section reaches 46‰, was put into service in 1895. Its existence contributed to the development of tourism in Karpacz, but in 2003 the line was closed and has been forgotten since then. Revitalization: The Lower Silesian Road and Rail Service undertook the task of restoring the splendor of this route. In our film, we follow the progress of the work. The Future of the Line: The planned works are a milestone towards trains running between Jelenia Góra and Karpacz again, carrying both locals and tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of the mountain landscape. We can't wait to see the first renovated train set off on its journey, revitalizing this historic route.
