It's time to return to the German capital, which has recently been heavily dominated by buses bearing the star's logo. In the years 2018-2021, BVG acquired as many as 556 articulated and 177 standard Citaro buses, 9 of which are used for training purposes. Today's long trip will begin with a visit to the north-eastern part of Berlin, where buses from the Lichtenberg depot dominate, which has only Mercedes in its fleet - 50 solo buses and 148 with a trailer, which makes a total of almost 200 vehicles. Line 197 alone runs on an almost hour-long route with a 10-minute cycle, which requires about 15 buses to service it, and it is no exception - many Berlin lines need an hour to cover their route one way, and the timetable does not assume any delays. However, BVG is trying to reduce drivers' stress related to performing scheduled journeys - there are plans to introduce regulated departures on routes 200 and 300 on a test basis - buses will not run according to an imposed schedule, but according to the possibilities related to road conditions, with an average frequency of every 10 minutes, while maintaining appropriate rest breaks for drivers. 197 S Mahlsdorf - Hohenschönhausen, Prerower Platz 1.
