Analyst Andi Bushati sees SPAK's announcement that Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj is being investigated for four criminal offenses as a propaganda announcement. Speaking on the news edition of MCN TV, he said that such an announcement responds to the attacks made by Veliaj on the Municipal Council and some media outlets close to him that blamed SPAK for the way it is proceeding with him and that this was confirmed today as well after the mayor's lawyers maintained the same line. But Bushati says that Veliaj is a political corpse and that the possibility that he was targeted by the ranks of the Socialist Party cannot be ruled out. He states that logic dictates that a compromise could have been found between the government and SPAK to punish Veliaj for his many sins and not ruin the party in power, that he has simply committed some sins and given some money to his family members, but that he is not involved in major corruption in the Tirana municipality.
