Training to become a German submarine commander is tough: after many years underwater, the candidates have to prove themselves in a final test. On a diving trip to Eckernförde, the students fire a practice torpedo and maneuver "their" boat out of the danger zone. WELT reporter Mick Locher was on board the U33 for the nerve-racking exercise.
