The three met in Vienna and created the European faction Patriots for Europe – Orbán, Kickl and Babiš. Although all three signed a manifesto celebrating freedom and criticizing the European Union, in practical politics within their countries they behave exactly the opposite – they centralize power and their ideal is greater state power in the economy. In one position, they have common voter groups – mostly rural and older generations. They are also united by strong ties to Russia, which makes their alliance very toxic. In parallel, there is a further stratification of factions at the European level. However, the main Czech parties do not belong to the three main currents (People's Party, Socialists, Liberals), so it will be quite difficult to get a strong “European ministry”.
