The screenwriter starts from the well-known data from November 1941, when the Chetniks broke the agreement with the Partisans on joint actions against the occupiers and literally sold a group of Partisan fighters to the Germans. The tragic hero is a lieutenant of the former Yugoslav army, a patriot who cannot accept defeat in the war and the occupation of the country. From scene to scene, this young man gets to know his strengths, looks at relationships, discovers people and gradually makes up his mind. At the moment of decision, when there is no other life for him but in the ranks of partisan fighters, death overtakes him, he receives a Chetnik bullet in the back.
