What does Buddhism have to do with Karate? Why do the Japanese believe in Buddhism and Shinto? Buddhism and faith in general are not just a religion for the Japanese, but a true way of life that has shaped the culture and traditions of this country for centuries. Buddhism came to Japan from China in the 6th century and quickly gained popularity. However, it did not remain in its original form, but transformed, creating its own, unique schools. The most popular are Zen, Nichiren and Jodo Shinshu, each with its own practices and philosophy. We will visit a beautiful Buddhist temple in Miyazaki. In Japan, Buddhism coexists with Shinto, the traditional Japanese religion, creating a unique system of beliefs.
