Welcome to the Bucureștii Noi Neighborhood! Today we met again with historian Mihai Burcea to walk the streets of Bucharest and discover the story of a neighborhood whose history is less known, namely Bucureștii Noi, which is located between the Constanța Bridge and Chitila. We discover the story of Basilescu, who had the estate here and who donated the land to the community to build houses and apartment buildings, we learn the story of the neighborhood's cultural center, the story of some legionnaires who were buried as heroes in the yard of a house, we pass through the square in the center of the neighborhood to see what it looks like, and finally we walk through Basilescu Park where we make a short stop at the church that bears the landowner's name. We want to remind you that these materials are made by the Giuclea team from our own resources, out of the pleasure of promoting, preserving and showing our history, that of the Romanians.
