In 1998, the body of Sylvie Arcangeli was discovered in her burnt-out car in a Colmar car park and that of Nicole Kritter was pulled out, tied up, from the bottom of the Grand Canal d'Alsace in Mulhouse. Similarities between the two crimes led to the identification of Jacques Fruminet, a repeat offender who had spent half his life in prison for sexual assault and murder. Tried in 2001, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a 22-year security sentence. Based on testimonies, including those of police officers, Fruminet's lawyer and a victim, Christophe Hondelatte retraces this case and highlights the dysfunctions of a system that allowed the release of a murderer with a serious history. #fela #truecrime #investigations ????
