In 1993, near Béziers, André Meffray, retired from an insurance group, was shot five times with a revolver. The police suspected Albert Foulcher, a former colleague of Meffray. In 1988, Foulcher closed his business, convinced that Meffray was embezzling former clients for the benefit of another of his successors, Maurice Michaud. Foulcher was imprisoned. But the defense denounced contradictions that cast doubt on the reliability of the accusation. It was in this context that Foulcher was released from prison after three years of preventive detention. In 2000, three months before his trial, he went on the run. On January 8, 2001, near Narbonne, Foulcher killed Pascal Herrero, the husband of a former mistress, as well as two police officers, and finally Maurice Michaud, the insurer he thought was in cahoots with Meffray. On January 17, he ended his life with a bullet to the head. ????
