◼︎ Samnyeonsanseong, located in Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, is a mountain fortress built with slate and was completed at the end of the 5th century. It is called Samnyeonsanseong because it took 3 years to build the fortress. It is often said that 10 years of planning are needed to plant a tree, and 100 years of planning are needed to raise a person. Silla unified the three kingdoms 200 years after building this fortress. Although the great feat of unifying the three kingdoms was not accomplished with just Samnyeonsanseong, it is also true that it played a significant role in the process.
