People with disabilities are often cut off from their families and denied entry to welfare facilities. They are called "criminally disabled people" and are intellectually or mentally disabled people who have committed some kind of crime in the past. Even after being released from correctional facilities such as prisons and juvenile detention centers, they tend to become more isolated and reoffend. In an effort to break this "negative loop," we turned our camera on the activities of "Pia Life," a group home management corporation in Osaka that continues to support the lives and independence of people with disabilities who have committed crimes and lost their place to live. What is shown in the footage is the faces of the care staff, who sometimes scold the residents, who are always at risk of reoffending, and sometimes treat them like family. Their ultimate goal was to "create a place to live outside the walls." (Broadcast on March 29, 2024)
