Welcome to the second part of our holiday trip through Bosnia. Those who watched the previous part already know that today we will take you high into the mountains, or more precisely, we will go up Paljenik, whose height of 1933 m above sea level makes it the highest peak in the Vlasić massif. The massif itself is the second highest mountain in central Bosnia. We set off from the campsite by Lake Plivsko right after breakfast. Curious about the adventure, we followed the asphalt and gravel road number R413b, passing charming villages, forests, wildlife, and local residents interested in our car, while I wondered what the ride to the top of Paljenik would actually look like and what awaited us on the target route. After about 55 minutes, we turned onto road number R413a, continuing along the asphalt to the parking lot. When we adjusted the tire pressure to driving in demanding terrain, we set off. The mood was positive for both us and our children, but my heart was beating a little faster. Well... maybe even a lot faster ☺ Because I won't hide the fact that narrow mountain paths surrounded by smaller or larger precipices arouse a dozen emotions in me. However, I believe that in order to fulfill your dreams, you have to overcome your inner fear and take on new challenges. So with this idea in mind, I quietly sat in the passenger seat, capturing the picturesque ride in the lens. The approximately eight-kilometer route with an elevation gain of 462 meters led us through an open space with a gravel, rocky, sometimes steep surface, with numerous bends and panoramic views. Unfortunately, despite the sunny weather, clouds settled over the peaks, which limited the precise visibility of the nearby villages. And it's a pity, because with a cloudless sky you can see, among others, the historic buildings in the town of Travnik. The drive to the top of Paljenik is quite a demanding route, especially its last section, which can be difficult to pass in bad weather conditions. But although it is advisable to use an off-road vehicle or at least a vehicle with high suspension, we had the opportunity to admire how local residents charge over loose stones in an ordinary passenger car. From the top of Paljenik there is a view of the entire massif with characteristic, undulating hills and pastures. The plains visible in the distance contrast with the harsh, mountainous areas, which, covered with forests, create a beautiful, green carpet. The drive to Paljenik is undoubtedly a great adventure, but also certainly a kind of challenge, especially for inexperienced drivers. However, it rewards with unforgettable impressions and close contact with nature. On the way to Prokosko we are hungry for more impressions. Various questions about this famous place arise in our heads. Because although it is known from numerous videos, we really want to see it with our own eyes, feel the full mountain climate and evaluate it based on our own experiences. Look out for us…:-) #bosniaandherzegovina#BiH#bosnien#paljenik#vlasic #bosnianexpedition #bosniavacation#toyotahilux#pickup#expeditioncamper#familytravel#traveling#travelwithchild#offroad#4x4#overlanding#camping#wildcamping#sleepingwild #handmadecamper#pickupcamper#hiluxadventure Music: https://artlist.io instagram: @paolcia_nowak tik-tok: @hiluxadventure contact: [email protected]
