• BOSCH Smart System 2025: Infinite M... ____ To the video ____ The Bosch CX Gen 5 is the successor to the successful Bosch CX Gen 4 motor. The motor shows only minor technical changes compared to its predecessor. It retains the same maximum torque of 85 Nm, a maximum output of 600 watts and an assistance of 340%. In terms of weight, the motor has been reduced by 100 grams to 2.8 kg, which makes it slightly lighter than the Gen 4. A major improvement is the reduction in noise level: the annoying rattling of the predecessor has been eliminated and the hum of the motor has been significantly dampened. The new CX motor offers improved responsiveness, especially when starting off and on technical terrain, thanks to new sensors that record the position and acceleration. On the test bench, there were hardly any differences in performance between the Gen 5 and the Gen 4 motor, but the new motor lasts longer under high loads before reducing performance due to heat (derating). The energy consumption of the new model is also slightly lower, which is particularly positive on inclines. Overall, Bosch is focusing on evolution rather than revolution with this model. The basic strengths of the predecessor have been retained, with small improvements in the areas of volume and responsiveness. Those who place great value on future-proofing could opt for the new Bosch CX, as it is prepared for future updates.
