Dr. Abdulkarim Soroush, a passage from Nahj al-Balagheh, first session May 19, 2023 Bonyad Towhid San Jose https://t.me/bonyadtowhid (Bonyad Towhid Telegram Channel) http://bonyadetowhid.org (Bonyad Towhid website) the first session of this speech lesson on the 19th May 2023 was held at the Tawheed Sun Foundation of California. At the beginning of the meeting and the beginning of the speech, Dr. Abdul Karim Soroush mentioned the late Abul Hasan Mokhtabad and said that he was the one who recommended and suggested that I start a series of lectures on Nahj al-Balagha. They sent greetings and forgiveness to that lost but not forgotten friend and dedicated this series of lessons to his dear soul. Further, he mentioned that since his youth, he had two favorites, one was the Qur'an and the other was Nahj al-Balagha, and along with them there were great poets such as Maulana, Hafez, and Saadi. In this meeting, they introduced the author of Nahj al-Balagha, Seyyed Razi, and explained how this book was compiled from a historical point of view, as well as Seyyed Razi's own writings. They said that by reading Nahj al-Balagheh, you will realize that this book is a literary and rhetorical book in addition to its intellectual, moral, political and social aspects. The writing of this work was completed in the month of Rajab in the year 400 AH. Ferdowsi's Shahnameh also ended in this year. He pointed out that the 4th, 5th, and 6th centuries were the golden centuries of Islamic civilization. Dr. Soroush also discussed the criticisms, suspicions, and doubts that have been and still are about Nahj al-Balagha.
