Bologna Centrale, 11 September 1996. The visit to the Bologna depot did not yield great results, compared to the 1980s the locomotives stationed there are very few. In the ALe sector we find the brand new ALe 642 and the older and more rustproof ALe 803. The GAI complexes are starting to be used less frequently and are already occupying tracks further away towards the back of the plant, tracks only intended for rolling stock close to radiation. Here we see some D.341 and some ALe 880 and 790 with all their openings blocked due to asbestos. We take advantage of an ALe 582 leaving the depot to go to the station. Stopping at the protection signal we enjoy a privileged view of the arriving and departing trains. We end the visit at the dead tracks of the western square of Bologna Centrale.
