If you’re in the market for a large, premium, German SUV, which one should you choose – the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7 or Volkswagen Touareg? Well, we’ve put all five together and Mat compares them to see which one is the best buy of 2024! So let’s see how these five stack up in terms of performance and price. Starting with the Porsche, we have the Cayenne e-hybrid edition here. It’s powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine coupled to an electric motor that can deliver 470bhp and 650Nm of torque. The range starts at £76,000, but the car we have here costs around £102,000. The VW Touareg also has the same engine. However, its power output is lower compared to the Porsche, producing 462bhp and 700Nm. The range starts at £69,000, but this edition costs £89,000. The next most powerful car is the Mercedes GLE. It is powered by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel and an electric motor. Together, this makes 389bhp and 750Nm of torque. The GLE range costs from around £77,000, while the car we have here costs around £92,000. Next up is the all-new BMW X5. Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre turbodiesel with 298bhp and 670Nm. The entry-level X5 costs from £70,600, but the car we have here is the second most expensive of the five at around £94,000. Finally, we have the Audi Q7. This edition has a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel under the bonnet, producing 286bhp and 600Nm. The entry-level Q7 is the cheapest car of the five, costing around £65,000, while the car we have here costs £87,000. But which of these five cars is best for you?
