MOTORVISION TV report - More power despite fuel savings thanks to chip tuning Two BMW 330ds, built in 2012, which are absolutely identical. The performance data provided by the manufacturer is 258 hp and 560 Nm of torque. BMW states the average consumption as 4.9 l per 100 km. One of the two test vehicles is equipped with an additional control unit from RaceChip and remains marked accordingly for the entire test drive. Before departure, the performance data of the two vehicles is determined on the test bench. According to measurements, the standard BMW has 266 hp and 566 Nm of torque. The value corresponds to the usual spread of around five percent and is therefore within the norm. Its chipped brother now has 289 hp. A whopping increase of 10%. The torque has even increased by 12%, the measurement shows 624 Nm! Despite the increase in performance, consumption is said to be reduced by up to 1.0 liter per 100 km of driving distance.
