Answering all these questions and more is the great Dr. Nidal Qassoum, an Algerian astrophysicist who obtained his PhD and Master’s degrees from the University of California, San Diego (USA). He spent two years as a researcher at NASA’s Goddard Center. He has made contributions to Islamic astronomy, including issues of observing and seeing the crescent moon, the Islamic calendar, and prayer times in high latitude areas, which are problems that Muslim scholars have not found a solution for and are still under discussion. He has published many specialized research papers and lectured at prestigious academic institutions around the world (Cambridge, Oxford, Cornell, Wisconsin, and others). Welcome to Azraq.
