Today, December 11th, it was finally time again: the third edition of the Blue Light Ride. At 3pm, an impressive convoy of about 100 vehicles left Panningen for a ride of about an hour and a half. Various healthcare facilities were visited along the way. At many points along the route, the emergency services were waved off by the public. In Baarlo, the procession was stopped for a minute at the fire station to pay their last respects to a deceased volunteer firefighter. A very impressive moment that left a deep impression on the participating care providers. The convoy then drove to the VieCuri Medical Center, where Tim, one of the patients in the children's department, was allowed to count down. When we arrived at midnight, the parking lot was transformed into a (deafening) sea of blue light. Lifeboats on the Maas, blue-lit residential buildings and a low-flying police helicopter rounded off the spectacle. Result: goosebumps and moist eyes among the patients, their relatives and also the nursing staff. Many thanks to all the nursing staff from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom who are dedicating their free time today to giving sick people an unforgettable day. ----------- Info: In my videos I refer to §22 in conjunction with §23 of the German Copyright Act.
