Russian psaltery Bogomil Lyre Blagoveshchensk is a city in Russia, on the border with China. It is located on the left bank of the Amur River and on the right bank of the Zeya River, at its mouth. Blagoveshchensk is the final railway station on the line departing from Belogorsk station on the Trans-Siberian Railway. On May 21 (June 2), 1856, a military detachment of about 500 soldiers arrived on the left bank of the Amur, not far from the mouth of the Zeya, and began clearing the territory to prepare it for future settlers. The soldiers cleared the forest, prepared logs for buildings, and cleared space for vegetable gardens. On June 29 (July 11), the first group of 60 settlers arrived, consisting of Transbaikal Cossacks. Blagoveshchensk is a city in Russia, on the border with China.
