A pair of blackbirds chose an unusual breeding site. They built their nest under the canopy of our gazebo, where I was able to film them every day from the laying of the eggs through the incubation period (14 days), the growth of the nestlings, to the leaving of the clutch (15 days). The clutch consisted of 5 light blue eggs, of which only 3 were hatched.
