We all have moments when we are both elated and depressed, but what if we are too elated and too depressed? Timuçin Oral describes these extremes of emotion! He is a medical doctor and professor of psychiatry. After working as a general practitioner for two years, he worked at Bakırköy Mental and Nervous Diseases Hospital for 23 years. Previously, he taught psychiatry as a contract faculty member at Yeditepe University Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, and psychology undergraduate and graduate courses at Istanbul Commerce University for six years, and PhD courses at Boğaziçi University. He is a member of the International Association of Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) and the European Representative of the ISBD Board of Counselors between 2012-16. His main area of interest is bipolar disorders, and he has published many national and international papers and articles. He has also written many book chapters, edited books, and co-authored a book called "Biological Psychiatry- Mood Disorders in Research and Clinical Practice".
