Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 in a German city called Trier. The family was high-class, his father, Heinrich, was a professional lawyer. His mother, Henrietta, came from a wealthy Dutch family. Marx's family was Jewish, but his father converted to Christianity a year before he (Karl) was born. The reason was not related to religious beliefs at all, but to prevent harsh laws that were implemented against some Jewish minorities. Karl was the third of nine children in the family. When his brother died in 1819, Karl became the eldest child in the family. As a child, he was very lively and put himself in danger a lot. He was educated by his father until he went to high school and then entered Trier High School. School principal Hugo Wyttenbach took an interest in the young Karl and ignited the first sparks of Marx's interest in philosophy. (Wittenbach) taught libertarian thoughts to his students and also employed libertarian youth as teachers in the school. This caused the government to look down on this school and to recognize it as a place for spreading dangerous ideas. In 1832 AD (Wittenbach), the crime of disturbing public opinion was observed. Second part: Education at Karl University, he graduated from school at the age of seventeen. In October 1835, he began his university studies in the field of law at Bonn University. In the first semester of the university, he faced many challenges. A year later, he became a member of a poetry group who were political extremists and were monitored by the police. They spent many hours in the pub and sometimes he (Marx) got so drunk that he could not concentrate on his studies. He was arrested once for being drunk in public. After he couldn't do anything at the University of Bonn for a whole year, his father took him to the University of Berlin, which was a lower and higher level university, and asked his son to work harder in his studies this time. The summer before starting his studies at the University of Berlin, Karl returned to his father's house in Trier. During this time, he began a romantic relationship with a young woman, a woman named Jenny Von Westphalen, whom he had known since childhood. Before leaving for college in October, Carl got engaged to the girl. Staying at the University of Berlin made Marx pay more attention to his studies. He had given up night entertainment and had become a member of several philosophy groups. He was very interested in the thoughts of the German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Karl's interest in academic studies waned in May 1838 because he lost his father that year. Marx was very fond of his father and this death was a great crisis in his personal life. His father supported Karl financially and the loss of his father had created very difficult financial conditions for his son. This was a crisis for the Westphalen family, his fiancee's family, because they knew that Karl was not capable of building a decent life for their young daughter. But this young couple was still in touch with each other even though they were far apart and it was very difficult to communicate at that time. Part Three: Focusing on Philosophy After his father's death, Marx changed his field of study from law to philosophy. His goal was to graduate from the university with excellent marks and get a university professorship in the field of philosophy. In order to pay for his education, he started working as a journalist. He started working in a very controversial newspaper called Rhineland News. This newspaper was strongly against the Prussian kingdom's rule over the Rhineland region. In October 1842, Karl Marx became the editor of the newspaper. It was during this period that Marx started writing about communism and everything that a communist government needed. But in Zeminiya, Czar Nicholas I was very harsh in criticizing the Russian kingdom. The officials of the Kingdom of Prussia entered the pit and boarded the door of the newspaper office. During this period, Karl Marx was an unemployed journalist. But despite being unemployed and without money, he married Jenny in June 1843. The wedding ceremony took place in a Protestant church, and members of both families attended. This was while the members of Westfalen's family, i.e. her husband's family, believed that this girl was marrying someone below her level. 00:00 Introduction 02:47 University studies 06:52 Focus on philosophy 09:19 Life in France 15:09 Life in Belgium 19:57 Hard days 22:56 Life in England 28:23 American Civil War 32:03 Capital, Critique of political economy 35:31 Death and legacy
