Well, not even an album: these are 4 songs; what is called an EP - Extended Play: an extended single, or a mini-album. This form was popular in the 1960s, then "Cocteau Twins" revived it in the 1980s, and since then it has become more and more a part of everyday life. And it all turned out like this. I didn't write songs for over a year; somehow my hand didn't rise. And then suddenly this spring something happened, and the songs started appearing again. I can't evaluate their quality at all; but putting them on record took a huge amount of time. I thought we would release them by the beginning of summer; no way. They didn’t want to be like before; they want to be like tomorrow. These songs are not an album, because an album is a symphony: it is an artist’s statement: And the EP is like songs on the square, here and now, about what is happening. And this is the first release under the name “BG+”. I am often asked – what is happening with “Aquarium” now, what will happen next. You see, “Aquarium” appeared in Russia as a reaction to the official culture. We wanted to be a window into the open world. As if there was no official culture, censorship, but simply – to sing the way you want to sing; play the way you want to play. And “Aquarium” existed for 50 years; it seems to me that a group playing such music cannot exist for 50 years; it is somehow inconvenient. And so we ceased to exist and now bear no social responsibility. We just call ourselves "BG+" and say what we are now.
