Filmmaker Thomas Hainz accompanies a long-serving trail warden and reports on collectors in the mountains: they collect stones, but also peaks. People are driven to the mountains by a wide variety of motives: most seek the experience of wild nature, but a few are also driven to the mountains by their passion for collecting. For some, it is rare minerals and valuable stones, for others special peaks - for example, all of the 3000-meter peaks in South Tyrol. In contrast to normal mountaineers, collectors often have to find their way in impassable and rarely visited areas - and it takes a lot of research and background knowledge of the respective subject matter. Bergwelt accompanies one of the longest-serving trail wardens in South Tyrol. For decades, he has marked out over 200 kilometers of hiking trails in Martell, among other places.
