The resort island of St. Barts is known internationally for its luxury tourism and grandeur. Before the 1960s, its 2,000 inhabitants made a living from fishing and crafts. In 1957, American billionaire David Rockefeller, seduced by the extraordinary beauty of the place, bought land there and had a luxurious villa built. Since then, international stars and the world's richest people have been drawn to this island like magnets, creating what is today the premier luxury destination in the Caribbean. We meet the workers who work behind the scenes to keep this luxury island afloat. Numbering around 3,000, they come mainly from Portugal to try their luck at making a living in paradise. From chefs to luxury buyers to celebrity trainers, our cameras get an exclusive look into the daily lives of the millionaire visitors who have made this exotic paradise that is St. Barts an island of unparalleled luxury. This documentary was produced by Ligne de Front and directed by Marc de La Villardière and Clarisse Verrier.
