On the way to the mountain, the search team comes to a river. Vic suggests going rafting, but Briar is a little worried. Vic brags about how he once won a rafting competition, so that the others will feel safe. Christie agrees to go rafting, and she manages to persuade Briar. First, they need to build a raft. Vic gives everyone tasks, but does nothing himself. When everything is ready for the rafting, dragonflies start flying low. Christie is afraid that it might rain, but Vic says that everything will be fine. They are having fun floating down the river, but it is about to rain. The friends decide to get to the shore, but only Christie succeeds, while the others float away. The rain starts to fall harder, and the raft capsizes. All three fall into the water, and they are almost carried away by a waterfall. On the shore, Christie knocks down a dry tree, throws it across the riverbed and saves everyone. But the tree isn't strong enough, and they all fall into the waterfall. They're carried back to Pinetree, with Christysloman's left leg broken and more than half of their rafting gear gone. The friends rush Christy to the hospital.
