In the Sonoran Desert, which spans the US and Mexico, hundreds of migrants get lost or die every year, under extreme weather and environmental conditions and temperatures that reach close to 50°C. This border region is part of the most dangerous land migration crossing in the world, according to the International Organization for Migration. There, a group of volunteers dedicate large parts of their weekends to searching for, assisting and rescuing lost migrants - but they do not always arrive in time to save them. In this documentary by BBC News Mundo, the BBC's Spanish-language service, reporters Valentina Oropeza and José María Rodero follow a day of work by the Desert Eagles volunteers.
