A hiking tour in Berchtesgaden National Park, canyoning in Kleinwalsertal, a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, a city trip through the state capital Munich and a detour to Lake Constance: Bavaria has a lot to offer travelers. Nina Heins shows us the beautiful state of Bavaria with all the spectacular opportunities that Bavaria has in store for vacationers. 00:00 Welcome 00:32 Munich 10:44 Berchtesgaden National Park 13:02 Hike to the Watzmannhaus 17:47 Climb to the Watzmann summit 23:50 Neuschwanstein Castle 29:19 Kempten 32:36 Canyoning in Kleinwalsertal 39:11 Lindau on Lake Constance 43:43 Farewell It all starts in the state capital: people surf here, even though the sea is hundreds of kilometers away and hardly anyone knows that Europe's graffiti movement was born in this clean and chic city in the 80s. On a guided bike tour, they experience Munich's diverse street art and then, in a workshop, they can grab a can and spray graffiti themselves. Completely legal, of course. But the filmmakers' sightseeing program also includes the classics, such as a visit to the Hofbräuhaus, where they can take an exclusive look into the famous beer mug safe. This is where regulars keep their own beer mugs. At the Viktualienmarkt, local gourmets meet curious tourists and over 200 years of tradition meet fresh ideas from innovative stall owners. There is a lot to try here, from Bavarian cheese to exotic fruit. The journey continues to Berchtesgaden National Park. With a mountain guide, you go on a hiking tour through beautiful landscapes. In the Allgäu is probably the most romantic and kitschy place of longing in Germany: Neuschwanstein Castle. The castle was actually never intended for the public, but was intended as a retreat for the rather shy Ludwig II. Today it is one of the most visited sights in Germany. Disney was inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle for its fairytale castle in the animated film 'Cinderella'. Replicas in the Disney parks Orlando and Tokyo have made the castle even more famous. In Kempten, things get culinary: two sisters offer baking courses here and Nina and Jonas learn to bake an Allgäu cherry cake. The Allgäu is a hotspot for outdoor fans. In the Starzlachklamm near Sonthofen, you can go canyoning: In the action-packed tour, you'll abseil, jump and slide. Not for the faint-hearted. Ahoy, it's Lindau on Lake Constance, the last stop on the Bavaria trip. Germany's southernmost lighthouse is in the harbor of the old town island and there you'll board a sailing ship for a taster course.
