Streams and forest springs are in danger in many areas. A team of researchers has investigated the state of Bavaria's streams and forest springs and how their condition can be improved. Streams and forest springs are in danger in many areas. They are losing water, they are silting up and becoming silted up. At the same time, the streams are practically running out of air because the water is becoming increasingly poor in oxygen. A team of scientists from the universities of Bayreuth and Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Technical University of Munich are sounding the alarm. Their findings are frightening: They have determined that climate change, changes in stream courses and the acid rain of the 1980s are causing massive damage to water bodies.
