On the night of April 22, 1968, commandos of Battalion K300 of Military Region 5 raided the high point 108 of Ky Son mountain in Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh; where a company of the ARVN Regional Forces was stationed. The battle took place quickly when the garrison discovered an infiltration, they fired flares and poured all their firepower into the Liberation Army formation on the hillsides. Of the 57 commandos, 56 were killed, only one survived the battle.
