The Battle of Cerignola (1503) marked a turning point in military history. In the context of the War of Naples, the Spanish forces led by the Great Captain, Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, faced the French army, commanded by the Duke of Nemours. Despite being outnumbered, the innovative defensive tactics of the Spanish, based on the combination of arquebusiers, pikemen and strategically prepared terrain, resulted in a crushing victory. This confrontation not only defined the course of the war, but changed the way battles would be fought in the following centuries, with the emergence of the Spanish Tercios and infantry armed with firearms as the protagonists. ✔ VIDEO CHAPTERS 0:00 Introduction 1:34 War of Naples 4:38 Preparations and strategy 7:28 Battle of Cerignola 11:35 Aftermath — Script, voice and editing by: Denis Ztoupas (Forgotten Heroes) — Thumbnail illustration: PG-Moran on Deviantart Other related videos The Battle of Poitiers: • Battle of Poitiers, 732 ⚔️ The last...
