Binh Long Province is a province located in the northwest corner of the III Military Region, with a population of about 60,000, bordering Cambodia to the north and northwest, Phuoc Long Province to the east, Binh Duong Province to the south, and Tay Ninh Province to the southwest. Binh Long consists of 3 districts: Loc Ninh District to the north, An Loc District in the middle, and Chon Thanh District to the south. An Loc Town, located in An Loc District, is the provincial capital of Binh Long Province, with a population of about 15,000, about 100 km south of Saigon. The main traffic axis of Binh Long is National Highway 13, running in the north-south direction, from the Cambodian border, through the towns of Loc Ninh, An Loc, Tan Khai, Cau Tau O, Chon Thanh, and Lai Khe (in Binh Duong Province) to Saigon. Around An Loc Town are mostly rubber plantations covering a total area of about 75,000 acres. The Binh Long Commander at the time of the An Loc battle was Colonel Tran Van Nhut, a Marine Corps officer with extensive battlefield experience. Later, Colonel Nhut was promoted to Brigadier General and appointed Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division. The summer of 1972 witnessed a fierce General Offensive by Communist forces in the South on three fronts: 1) Quang Tri just south of the Demilitarized Zone in Region I; 2) Kontum in the Central Highlands in Region II; and, 3) Binh Long in Region III. This article only describes the desperate defense of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) at An Loc, the provincial capital of Binh Long province. ________________________________________________ ♫ Subscribe - Register and follow TDGS here: https://bit.ly/3rjbWiw TDGS Report: https://bit.ly/3TubSwv Soldier Music: https://bit.ly/3NCbM29 Special Issue: https://bit.ly/3RMLY5U Music Before 1975: https://bit.ly/41uUART Nostalgic Corner: https://bit.ly/3RNjLvV Historical Songs of Chaos: https://bit.ly/3tqVjXO Brief History of the Southern Country https://bit.ly/3TUjWam Old Music: https://bit.ly/48qPl8k Nam Ky Vo Quan https://bit.ly/3RQ1FIA Battlefield Letter https://bit.ly/3Hb2cQn Old Names https://bit.ly/3NWoTLK Travel Guide https://bit.ly/3tLF1sD Long Binh General Warehouse https://bit.ly/3vATxE2 Podcast https://bit.ly/3RTIHjZ THE FOLLOWING OF SHOE MOMENTS ♪ Email: [email protected] ♪ Youtube: / lucfilms ♪ Facebook: / theodaugiayso --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #nhaclinh #nhactrutinh #nhacvang
